Part I, “Envision the Possibilities,” introduces you to the changes in Office 2010 and shows you how you can make the most of the new features to fit the way you work today. Chapter 1, “Welcome to Office 2010,” gives you a play-by-play introduction to new features; Chapter 2, “Express Yourself Effectively and Efficiently,” details the great feature enhancements and visual effects throughout the applications; and Chapter 3, “Work Anywhere with Office 2010,” explores the flexibility factor by presenting a set of scenarios that enable users to complete their work no matter where their path takes them.

Part II, “Hit the Ground Running,” focuses on each of the Office 2010 applications in turn, spotlighting the key new features and showing how they relate to the whole. These chapters provide a how-to guide for many of the top features you’re likely to use right off the bat, and they offer inspiring ideas on how to get the most from your favorite applications.

Part III, “Next Steps with Office 2010,” zooms up to the big picture and provides examples to help you think through interoperability. How often do you use the various Office applications together? Customer research shows that people often don’t realize how well the applications work together as a complete system—which means they might be laboring over items they could easily incorporate from somewhere else. This part of the book provides examples for integrating the applications and explores Office 2010 security and training opportunities, as well.

Google Chrome Os – A new Operating system from Google.

Author: Pavan Kumar | Filed under: News-Software

After a lot of gossips and discussions online Google had officially announced the release of it operating system Google Chrome Os.

I should say google is going to give new clothes/outfit for Linux as this os is built on it. So let us see whether it is going to give competition to Windows or not.

Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks.

->This is the area where windows Operating system fails, While xp is going to be discontinued in near future I don’t expect people running windows vista or 7 on netbooks at ease.

Later this year we will open-source its code, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010

->So it is open source, and open source had its own set of pros and cons.

Speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS. We’re designing the OS to be fast and lightweight, to start up and get you onto the web in a few seconds. The user interface is minimal to stay out of your way, and most of the user experience takes place on the web. And as we did for the Google Chrome browser, we are going back to the basics and completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS so that users don’t have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates. It should just work.

->Oh My God, Google talking abt security :O ???, I will just thank god if it doesn’t collect user’s computing information, and Linux is itself somewhat secured .

Google Chrome OS will run on both x86 as well as ARM chips and we are working with multiple OEMs to bring a number of netbooks to market next year. The software architecture is simple — Google Chrome running within a new windowing system on top of a Linux kernel. For application developers, the web is the platform. All web-based applications will automatically work and new applications can be written using your favorite web technologies. And of course, these apps will run not only on Google Chrome OS, but on any standards-based browser on Windows, Mac and Linux thereby giving developers the largest user base of any platform.

->Its okk ,good

Google Chrome OS is a new project, separate from Android.

->Its ok, Android is only for PDA’s and smart phones,

Google Chrome OS is being created for people who spend most of their time on the web

->I guess its desktop will be messed with full of Google gadgets available over web.

We hear a lot from our users and their message is clear — computers need to get better. People want to get to their email instantly, without wasting time waiting for their computers to boot and browsers to start up. They want their computers to always run as fast as when they first bought them. They want their data to be accessible to them wherever they are and not have to worry about losing their computer or forgetting to back up files. Even more importantly, they don’t want to spend hours configuring their computers to work with every new piece of hardware, or have to worry about constant software updates. And any time our users have a better computing experience, Google benefits as well by having happier users who are more likely to spend time on the Internet.

->Guess, one also do it with present operating systems like windows7, Ubuntu so let us wait and see what it had to offer more, and Asus is offering one quick boot Linux in its basic netbook already

->So let us wait and see whether it is going to give good competition to Windows or just end up giving competition to other Linux operating systems.
